An Idaho Falls man learned the hard way that a dumpster is no place to hide from police.

Idaho Falls Police arrested Anton Clarke Thor Merrill, 21, on a warrant for aggravated battery early Monday morning.

Merrill was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Police issued the warrant following an investigation into an incident that happened on June 22 in the 200 block of Gladstone. Detectives believe Merrill attacked a 48-year-old woman by grabbing her and throwing her to the pavement.

The woman's husband pushed Merrill off her and they began to scuffle. After a brief fight, Merrill left.

He was later found hiding in a yellow dumpster in the alley behind the home. Merrill was not arrested at the time pending further investigation.

When the warrant was issued, officers arrested Merrill at the intersection of First Street and Holmes Avenue around 12:30 a.m.
