A homeless man is facing arson and burglary charges after beraking into a garage and starting a fire.

Idaho Falls Police arrested Charles Hill, 31, and booked him into the Bonneville County Jail.

Officers made contact with Hill in the 1800 block of East 17th Street around 1:15 a.m. after receiving reports that a man was carrying a gas can and trying to break into apartments.

During the investigation, police discovered that Hill had broken into a garage at a home on Riviera and started two fires in the garage that caused damage. He also stole the gas can from the same home.
