Police Investigate Rollover Crash Involving a Car and a Bus

Police are investigating an accident involving a car and a bus on U.S. Highway 20 near the exit for the Lewisville Highway that happened Friday night.

25-year-old Emily Sweeney of Rexburg was driving a Ford Fusion in the left lane us U.S. 20. 54-year-old Lisa Claybrook of Blackfoot was driving a Blue Bird School Bus in the right lane of U.S. 20. Sweeney swerved into the right lane to take the exit ramp and collided with the rear of the bus. The Ford Fusion went off the road, struck a light post and rolled to a stop on top of a fence.

Sweeney had two passengers in her vehicle and the bus was occupied. Paramedics responded to the scene, but no one was transported to the hospital. Sweeney, her passengers and Claybrook were all wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
