Idaho Falls Police were forced to use a drive stun and taser to arrest a man they say was under the influence of drugs.

Officers arrested Dustin Ross, 20, for simple assault, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and frequenting a place where drugs are used. Police were called to the 900 block of Ada around 2:36 a.m., Saturday, in reference to two men under the influence of drugs trying to get into an apartment. Officers located Ross who failed to follow police commands and even tried to escape into another apartment.  As officers grabbed Ross and were placing him under arrest he again attempted to get away. Officers then drive stunned him. When that was ineffective, one officer decided to deploy his taser. Officers were able to gain control and handcuff Ross.
