Two people spent some time behind bars Sunday night after police say they stole an SUV and crashed it.

Idaho Falls arrested Vincent Compton-Dinapoli, 20, and Alana R. Litchie, 33, for vehicle burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Milligan Road for an accident. Witnesses told police that the driver, later identified as Litchie, of a GMC Yukon lost control, spun out and collided with a pile of construction material. Both Litchie and her passenger, Compton-Dinapoli, left on foot.

Officers found both down by the river between Pancheri and Broadway.

The Yukon was determined to be stolen. Police also found a stolen air compressor inside the Yukon. The air compressor was taken from another car parked near Buffalo Wild Wings.

Litchie was also arrested for driving under the influence, driving without privileges and leaving the scene of an accident. Compton-Dinapoli was also arrested for underage consumption of alcohol.
