Rexburg Motor Sports is donating a brand new Polaris 500 Sportsman to the Rexburg’s Police Department DARE program.
“We’re a big family store, everyone here has a family, we care for our kids, we want the best for our kids, we want the best for the community, that’s why we do things like this, because it will really help out in the long run” said sales manager, Scott Leonardson.
“The community backs the DARE program amazingly, this is just another way that we can help get the classroom supplies to the kids, and also we’d like to expand our program to the kindergarten through 4th grade here in the area” said DARE officer and school resource officer, Shawn Scott.
In an effort to raise money, the DARE program is selling raffle tickets for the 4-wheeler.
Tickets cost $100 each and only 100 tickets will be sold.
The money raised will then go towards classroom supplies the DARE program provides for the students.
“We also do a couple parties, DARE nights, and we do a pretty big graduation at the end of the year for all the dare kids, so the supplies and the donations that we get, the go right to those kids and help keep our DARE program going every year” continued Scott.
It costs about $29 to put each student through the DARE program.
There are about 600 students in DARE every year.
Tickets for the raffle will be on sale at Rexburg Motor Sports, the Rexburg Police Department and the Friday night Madison High School football game.
The 4-wheeler being raffled is worth $5,500.
