Century high school band students this year are doing multiple fundraisers to help support band pride. Summer Joy stopped by to find out how they are making some loud money in a quiet way.

These band students are coming together to try and raise $20 thousand dollars by doing multiple fundraisers and today they are doing rock-a-thon. This is where students get sponsored by family and friends and then they literally rock from 11 am to 11 pm.  This rock-a thon will help save money for new and shiny uniforms which will help add confidence as they move in to the future.

"It really helps them develop a sense of pride because they have worked to get these uniforms, brings them together in that way," said Colin Brien, the Director of Bands at Century High School.

Brian added that this event has really helped solidify the band family.

"We're a pretty close unit and family we work together about everything," said one band student, Alexis Folck.

"I don't know, I think ever since we were freshman we have been complaining about new uniforms and now that it's going to happen it's really exciting and you know it's like a fresh start and then we are going to have a new image," added another band student, Christine Santos.

If you would like to help out and donate you can go to and click on boosters.

"Once those new uniforms get on the field it's going to excite the audience. It's going to be exciting for football games, exciting at competitions to create that new look that the band students are proud of. I think they will play better and I think they will feel better. I think they will want to be more unified and take everything up to the next level after that," added Brien.

So far the marching band has raised six thousand dollars from the rock-a-thon and they only need four thousand more dollars total.
