Eyes are turning towards Idaho as the republican presidential caucus is just over two and a half weeks away. One of the presidential nominees is campaigning here in Idaho today.

I'm here in Twin Falls where hundreds of people are showing up to support republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

Hundreds of people from all around the state gathered at Twin Falls High School to hear what Ron Paul had to say to Idahoans.

"I want to be here to see a lot of his views in person, to see him speak and see how he reacts to questions he's asked” said Jeff Anderson.

"We came just to listen to what he had to say” said Camille Bourret.

Paul's message consisted of many things, a 1.3 trillion dollar budget cut as well as strategies on how he would tackle other budget problems.

"And it was guaranteed that if you have an income tax they're going to collect a lot of taxes and what will happen, government will grow, and that's why the founders didn't give us an income tax, so when the republic comes back, we won't have an income tax” said Ron Paul.

"I like that he's the only candidate so far that's proposing any kind of major budget cuts” said Matthew Larsen.

So far, Paul hasn't gotten the overwhelming number of results he would like, but here in Idaho, many believe he's got a chance.

"The more I talk to people, I'm finding there's a lot more supporters out there than I realized, and the more I talk to people, or kind of am able to convert people over to the Ron Paul side, and he seems to be gaining a lot more support lately” continued Anderson.

"Here in Idaho I think he has a fair chance just because it is a very conservative state” said Sophia Carkonen.

"I think he has decent chances here” continued Bourret.

"Out of all the states I think Idaho is one of the big ones because the citizens here are fairly independent as far as the national average goes” continued Larsen.

As for Ron Paul’s opinion of winning the Idaho caucus....

"I don't know, but we're going to try very hard."

About 1,350 people showed up to support Ron Paul today. Paul will be in Moscow Friday and Boise on Saturday.

The Idaho caucus will be held all around the state on Tuesday March 6th. Mitt Romney will be in Idaho tomorrow.

No word yet on if Newt Gingrich will make an appearance in the Gem state.
