With summer temperatures becoming more consistent, Ross park is Pocatello is seeing more and more attendance at its aquatic center
the pools, waterslide, kids splash pad and lazy river have made for a pristine local warm day getaway. The center is also family friendly with easy access for parents to look after their kids.
in the interest of safety, lifeguards are posted throughout the center, giving an added sense of security. According to Pocatello parks and recreation, only the most qualified lifeguards are hired and they have weekly trainings to sharpen and learn new lifesaving techniques.
RPAC has a full schedule of events this summer, including teen get-togethers. Stacie Vankirk the Recreation Manager for Pocatello parks and recreation gives us the details on the dances.
Stacie said that, "They'll start July 11 and be every Thursday for four weeks. For five dollars, teens between the ages of 12 and 18 can go swimming at 9 o'clock at night till 11. And we have a DJ and they get to swim under the lights. It's just a really fun time to hang out with their friends and just have a good time."
