He walked to the front of the room in the Parks and Recreation Center in Idaho Falls, thanked the audience for coming and began his explanation. He outlined why he should be the next Governor of Idaho.

“I don’t see a vision for our state,” Republican State Senator Russ Fulcher said.” I don’t see a direction for our state. What I see is that we tend to react to whatever is coming out of Washington D.C.”

Russ Fulcher came out swinging at his meet and greet in Idaho Falls Thursday. He met supporters and spoke out against current Governor C.L. Butch Otter.

He claimed that based on a business background,“I have a plan to put some prosperity into the state of Idaho.”

Part of Fulcher’s plan for prosperity in Idaho is to reject Idaho Core Standards.

Speaking of Common Core, Fulcher said, “There’s differences in the students in Idaho Falls and downtown Detroit. To try to imagine that you can take the same base methodology, the same base Curriculum. It’s just not feasible. It’s just not the best solution for Idaho.”

However, a solution that Fulcher thinks is the best for Idaho is a privatized alternative to the affordable care act.

“We can put in place an alternative to that. A private free-market based alternative that has a number of free market components. A system that puts the money in the control of the people,” Fulcher said.

After his presentation, Fulcher then took questions from the audience in an open forum fashion, and continued to outline his plan and what separates him from Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter.
