Normally as news people we try to not shine the light on ourselves. That's because we are focused on bringing you stories that affect your daily life. But now KPVI News 6 has an announcement that is too exciting to keep quiet. Last week paperwork was filed with Federal Communications Commission to transfer ownership of KPVI News 6. After nearly 20 years as a part of Intermountain West Communications, KPVI News 6 will now be Idaho Broadcast Partners, LLC. The sale of KPVI still needs FCC approval.

So, what does this mean for you in the short term? Not much. We will continue to bring you unique coverage of eastern Idaho. We will continue to be a community partner that is interested in finding solutions to issues. We will keep looking for stories that affect you and stories that shine a positive light on life in eastern Idaho. In the longterm, it means an investment in our news coverage with more resources and technology upgrades.

In a few weeks, our new owner, Jason Wolff, will be coming to eastern Idaho. We plan to interview Jason on our newscasts to get his perspective on broadcasting in eastern Idaho and introduce you to him.

So as they say in the television world, stay tuned.

Will the new owners be more responsive to viewer information requests? Will the new owners make the news department sit up and give attention to news stories that are out of the box, and will the new owners put a station back in Twin Falls?
