Although most teenagers are not old enough to vote for a bond to be passed; many are enjoying the benefits that come from it.

Students and faculty came together to celebrate a ribbon cutting for one of District 91’s newest school buildings.

Compass Academy is one of four schools that have been built thanks to the $53 Million bond that was passed last year.

Some of the new features at Compass Academy include breakout spaces; cyber halls intended to help students work in groups and much more. Teachers also have more room to work in.

“It’s an exciting day, to see really 2 years of work culminated  in a form of ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration on one of the projects associated with the bond“ said Superintendent George Boland.

The next school that is expected to be completed will be Dora Erickson Elementary this fall.
