Big Sales and Small prices is what most people look forward to on the biggest shopping day of the year.
For many local businesses they are competing with the larger retail stores for the Black Friday shopper.
Smaller shops in Old Town Pocatello are coming up with their own day after Thanksgiving specials to attract the holiday customer.
"We are doing a sale on all of our clearance. We will go from 30% to 60% off for Black Friday, and all of our new arrivals will be 20% off for the day,” says, Emily Muller, manager at Muse.
Small business owner, Kanda Russell says it’s important to support the local stores during any season.
"We need the local business here, because so many people do it on internet and out of town, and small town businesses thrive on local people shopping in their business,”, says, small business owner, Kanda Russell.
"So I think if you shop locally to businesses, it will help the economy here and help people out and keep their business open,” says, Kimberly Zavalza, La Bella Vita.
"It's important for your community to support small businesses during the holidays, I mean there is a lot of big stores that everybody tries to get into, but don't forget about the little guys, because we are still trying to help you guys out with your unique needs and local small businesses have your more unique things for gift giving,” added, Muller.
While some old town establishments are participating in Black Friday, Others are waiting till Small business Saturday for their deals.
"We will be here and let people come in, but we are celebrating Saturday.
Big sale, door prizes, refreshments, we hide the elves and if you find one, you receive a gift. We have Thankyou’s for our loyal customers and a lot of Christmas spirit,” added, Russell.
Some Old Town businesses say they will stay open later on Black Friday for those who will be downtown for the light parade.
