Holt Arena, known for sports and entertainment, was the host to another type of event today, the Spring Fair. It’s been called the largest home, garden and recreational vehicle showcase in all of southeast Idaho. It’s part of a three day event and according to event organizer, the show was sold out well in advance.
Co-Owner of Raven Productions Kate Delate explained that, “This year we sold out in the beginning of February. It takes us a year to put this show on and we sell out earlier and earlier every year.”
The fair occurs every year; however this year was particularly enjoyable with blends of food, home improvement, travel, cosmetics, electronics and even cars.
“We have everything from travel trailers to irons; so it would cover just about every gamut that you would possibly want,” Delate noted.
The weather is turning for the better and this fair is a chance to give your couch a rest and explore a lot of new opportunities. I asked Idaho Carpet Care owner Keith Miller what he would say to those who are sitting on the couch in lieu of taking in this fair.
Multi Business Owner Keith Miller responded by saying, “They need to come on over there’s so much to do here (such a great time) and its very cheap entertainment, see what everyone’s doing have some food, the food over here’s great. They’re gonna have a good time for sure.”
The show can be a great opportunity for local businesses to come and share their products with a larger audience. Aberdeen based Krehbiels Sales and Service enjoys this opportunity each year.
Owner Terry Krehbiels said that the, “Thing I like about this fair is that its in the spring and just got done with the cold winter and people want to get out and the reason we come here is the exposure because were in Aberdeen and it’s a little bit away from SE Idaho and Pocatello and here we can let people know what products we have.”
Once again, the season that we’ve moved into means that it’s time to come on down and check out this fair.
Savvy Eyeliner expert Alicia O’Connell exclaimed that, “Its springtime! It’s the beginning of spring and we’re really excited.
It’s one of the first shows of really good weather that we have. It’s a lot of fun to go to there’s a lot of cool people here and a lot of fun things to see.
