ISU student Kyle Hand says he has an "Enhanced" Concealed weapon permit and he plans on using it to carry a gun on campus.

"I feel safer having my firearm with me and know that I can protect me and people around me,” says ISU student, Kyle Hand.

Some students at ISU say they will not be carrying a concealed weapon on campus, however they have no problem with those that will be.

"I do not and would not carry a gun on campus, but I am for it,” says ISU student, Scott Fisher.

"It really doesn't matter to me.  I mean if they want a weapon on campus, fine, just don't show it off.  I'm good not knowing,” says ISU student, Abigil Barnes.

Some students on the ISU campus say they feel a sense of security, now knowing that their fellow classmates and their professors can be armed on campus.

"I do feel safer,” added Fisher.

"They need to protect the students they have and they have access to do it. An  armed citizen is the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” added Hand.

Although there are not many students attending the summer session at ISU, most the students that were on campus said they don't have a problem with the new gun law

There will still be some restricted areas on campus where you are not allowed to carry a concealed weapon, and those places will be posted.
