A passenger flying from Idaho Falls to Las Vegas was cited and released Thursday after the Transportation Security Administration found a gun in a carryon bag.
TSA officials say this is the third firearm discovered by employees at the Idaho Falls Airport in 2013.
According to the Transportation Security Administration, travelers must check unloaded firearms in a locked, hard-sided container. All firearms, ammunition and firearm parts are prohibited in carry-on baggage.
Realistic replicas of firearms are also prohibited in carry-on bags and must be packed in checked baggage.
