President Obama is taking action to beef up the nation's defense against cyber attacks. The President will sign an executive order Tuesday and release it Wednesday. It reportedly outlines standards that companies should follow to protect from cyber attacks. President Obama is also expected to speak about cybersecurity in his State of the Union address.
We interrupt this program -- with news of a zombie apocalypse. That's what happened at a Montana television station, thanks to hackers. The Montana Television Network says hackers broke into the Emergency Alert System of Great Falls affiliate KRTV and its CW network station Monday. KRTV says on its website the hackers broadcast that "dead bodies are rising from their graves" in several Montana counties. The network says there is no emergency and its engineers are investigating. The Great Falls Tribune reports the hoax alert generated at least four calls to police to see if it was true.
Apple
may be taking a cue from James Bond or Inspector Gadget. The tech giant is said to be working on a smart wrist-watch. According to the New York Times, it would run on the same iOS operating system that powers iPhones, iPads and some iPods. The paper cites an unnamed source who says Apple is experimenting with a wrist-strap device made of curved glass. There has been no comment from Apple.
