With the Idaho Gives event coming up on May 2, thousands of Idaho’s non-profit organizations will benefit from your donations. And it is very easy to donate. Since this is an online event, you can go to the website and search for your favorite Gem State charity. Once you find it, make a donation. And when you donate to the charity of your choice, a share of every dollar will be matched with funds from the Idaho Gives award pool. Some charities make it even easier for you to donate using your smart phone. Just look for the QR code on their website and use your device to scan the code and then donate. When you have made your donation, share it using your social media sites. Let all of your Facebook friends or Twitter followers that you support Idaho’s non-profit agencies and they should too.
Federal regulators say they need to find ways to deal with the effects of social media.

Members of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission say regulators need to figure out how to respond to postings on social networks. The concern comes a week after hackers broke into The Associated Press' Twitter feed -- and posted a false report that sent the stock market into a tizzy. The commission hasn't come up with any immediate suggestions to deal with the problems. But the head of the panel suggests that firms could be held accountable and receive sanctions if it turns out their security systems weren't strong enough to ward off a breach.

Yahoo tries to repair its image with America's moms. Two months after Yahoo CEO Marrissa Mayer, banned telecommuting, the Internet giant has changed its policy on family leave benefits. Under the new policy, new mothers can take up to 16 weeks and fathers up to 8 weeks of paid leave with benefits. Yahoo is also giving new parents $500 to spend on baby and family needs.
