Five teenagers are facing serious charges after they broke into one business and tried to break into another.
Bonneville County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the Tobacco Connection, 1747 South Sabin, early Monday morning.
Witnesses told deputies they heard a loud alarm and could see flashing lights coming from the business. They also saw a dark colored car speeding away.
When deputies arrived, they found a brick had been thrown through the glass door and the store was a mess.
A deputy later stopped a green Dodge Intrepid at Sunnyside and Ross. He decided to search the car after noticing some cigarettes and a cigar. That's when he found cases of unopened beer and cigarettes in the trunk.
Three people were arrested. Oscar Uriel Chavez, 19, Marco Antonio Barron, 18, and Garrett Skidmore, 19, were booked into the Bonneville County Jail for Burglary.
Two juveniles were taken to the juvenile detenction center on burglary charges.
As Bonneville County investigated the burglary, they learned the same suspects may have been involved in an attempted burglary at the Quck Stop, 900 block of John Adams, later Monday morning.
Idaho Falls Police say the front doors were damaged but the suspects had not entered the building.
