State Superintendent Tom Luna made his way to eastern Idaho today.

He spoke with residents in Rexburg about the upcoming common core standards….saying that academic standards are not new in Idaho, for years we’ve had the ability to compare a school in Madison County to a school in Ada County but not Idaho schools to schools in other states because the standards weren’t the same.

“So now that we have states that have adopted common standards, not only can you compare a school in Rexburg with a school in Pocatello or Coeur d’Alene, but now you can compare Madison high School to a high school in Logan” said Luna.

Luna was accompanied by his wife and both were former students at Ricks College.
