Update:  Crews will be back on the scene Friday and checking for hot spots on a fire that was burning near Idaho Falls Thursday night.

This fire was east of Ammon Road and was fought by firefighters with the Idaho Falls, Ammon, Shelley, and Ucon Fire Departments as well as the Bureau of Land Management.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department says the voluntary evacuation of residents in the area of Longbow Bend and Henry's Creek Drive has
been lifted and that no homes were threatened by the blaze.

Preliminary reports estimate the size of the fire to be over 1,000 acres and officials say they will release more information about the fire on Friday.

Previous Story: A fire is burning East of Ammon Road in the foothills.

Residents in a one mile radius of Longbow Bend and Henry's Creek Drive are suggested to evacuate the area. The houses are not threatened yet, this is just a precaution. There is no estimate on acreage burned yet, or how the fire started. Crews are on the scene. Winds are moderate in the area and
are pushing the flames.
