UPDATE: The replacement plane has arrived and loading will begin shortly. Coming up tonight at 6, we will talk with some of the passengers about their experience.

Previous Story:
A United Airlines 737 bound from Seattle to Houston was forced to make an emergency landing at the Pocatello Regional Airport Tuesday morning.

According to the Pocatello Police Department, the plane landed safely at the airport just after 2:30 Tuesday morning.

The plane's 147 passengers are currently being accommodated in the terminal until a replacement plane arrives. Officials estimate the new plane will arrive around 9:30 this morning and the travelers will be back in the air around 11 Tuesday morning. In the meantime, passengers have been provided food and drinks while they are at the terminal.

David Allen, Airport Manager at the Pocatello Regional Airport, says an engine on the plane shut down and Pocatello was the closest suitable airport to make an emergency landing.
