An 8-year-old passenger has died at the hospital after an accident this afternoon that also claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl.
According to police, at about 1:00 p.m. Friday, a 16-year-old male from Idaho Falls was driving northbound on Interstate 15 three miles north of the Rose Exit near Blackfoot, when the vehicle went into the median. The driver over corrected and the vehicle overturned.
Two other juveniles in the car were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.
A 10-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The other 8-year-old passenger was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead.
The driver was also taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The names of the passengers have not been released and KPVI News 6 is withholding the name of the driver due to his age.

Investigators have confirmed that a female passenger was killed in the crash which happened shortly after 1:00 p.m., Friday.
According to reports, three people were traveling in the car when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and the car rolled. The white passenger car ended up in the median with debris strewn all over the interstate.
Northbound traffic on Interstate 15 was diverted for several hours and not full restored until 5:30 p.m.
Southbound traffic has not been disrupted.
