Multiple fire crews from Pocatello, Portneuf Valley and Chubbuck Fire Departments responded to a fire in the area of South 2nd Avenue Monday.

Lt. Paul Manning, with the Pocatello Police Department, says the fire burned one home and two sheds.  The fire started around 5 p.m. on South 1st Avenue before spreading to South 2nd.

Lt. Manning could not comment on the cause of the fire saying that would be the project of investigators.

Both the 1800 and 1900 blocks of South 2nd Avenue were evacuated because of the fire.  One man had to be forcefully removed from the area after he tried to fight the fire himself then refused to leave.  KPVI Reporter Dave Martinson will have more on his story on KPVI News Six at Ten.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Law enforcement blocked off South 2nd in the area as multiple fire units responded to put out the flames.
