A group of local citizens helped Idaho Falls police get a wanted subject off the streets, and now that subject needs a good home.
Police say, thanks to some helpful neighbors, Idaho Falls Animal Service captured a peahen Saturday night on Foote Drive.
Animal services had attempted to capture the bird for a couple weeks following several reports from residents spotting it wandering in local neighborhoods.
Around 10:30 p.m., an animal control officer responded to the 1000 block of Foote Drive after people managed to detain the bird.
The peahen is available for adoption to non-Idaho Falls residents at the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter.
