Pocatello Motocross park has a great history of high flying dirt bike racing. Racers of all ages and skill levels can find this track to be a place to develop talent and then compete.
Park Owner Rick Morrison explained that, “All age groups are welcome. We work with the younger ones who are just learning up to the old guys in their seventies and eighties.”
Today was no different. Various racing classes wound up their CCs and put rubber to the dirt in a local adrenaline rush. However today was special. The Food Network with their Food Truck Competition show visited this track. Owner Rick Morrison set the scene of how this National television program made the trek to his park
Morrison continued that, “One of the producers from the food network called and asked me if I wanted to let some trucks come out here and I said yes. We didn’t hear from them, then they called back. We signed all the forms for food network and here we are.”
The Show, called the great food truck race, pits teams with a food truck against one another. The objective is to have the most successful operation and to win fifty thousand dollars. Morrison feels that this show could put his track on the map.
Morrison continued that, “Everybody has their five minutes of fame. This could be our five minutes of fame. It just so happens to be my tenth year as track owner. To have the track get recognition and be on national TV has been great.”
Morrison still has other races coming up and hopes that even after the Food Network has moved on, you will stop by for the races.
He said that, “If you ride the track once you’ll be back more and more I guarantee it.”
