The Pocatello chiefs held their breakfast in as part of the rodeo festivities taking place
For just five dollars, patrons of the meal were treated to pancakes, sausage and eggs. This included a wide variety of drink choices to further add to the offering on a decidedly cold morning in Pocatello.
This breakfast provides a fitting backdrop to the rodeo action. A calm meal is served just before the rodeo gets back under way and cows, horses and bulls are running all over the arena.
We caught up with the president and CEO of the greater Pocatello chamber of commerce, Matthew j. Hunter and Pocatello city councilman Jim Johnston. Here's their input on the breakfast.
Hunter noted that," "the Pocatello chiefs are doing a breakfast for the rodeo crowd. We've been supporting the high school rodeo for a long long time and this is just one more way to support them."
Councilman Johnston outlined how to construct the perfect pancake.
"In order to make the perfect pancake, it takes years of experience. As a Pocatello Chief, I've worked at this for years and now, I've mastered it. You have to get the grill just right; with just the right amount of oil, and then perfectly prepared batter. And then the timing, the timing is what it takes. And then when its ready, I bring it to you with great love and joy."
