On a day in which American remembers those who have served and given their lives in combat, one group is taking time to serve them and promote remembrance of their sacrifice.
POW MIA Director Jim Blake explained that, “There’s 83352 Americans that have never returned. We want them all back and that’s our mission and we are going to get them all back. Today is another chance at awareness to remember all those that came before us. All that are going to go and those that have been.”
The POW MIA awareness rally corps of Pocatello took to the road and biked their way around East Idaho today in support and memorial of those who have served, or fallen or are still in combat.
Blake continued that, “They may be gone but they’re not forgotten. That’s our mission today. We’re going to get out there, fly the flags on the bikes and get people talking about what’s going on.”
Blake feels that today is a chance to raise awareness for his cause and for the cause of America. He wants everyone to remember that we are all on the same team.
“What’s this about, why should I (you) care? What’s there to remember? If they don’t know, maybe they do, maybe they’ll start talking about it because it’s what Americans should be doing all across the country, it’s not just about a barbeque. It’s about us all of us on the same team, team America, respecting those that have given it all,” Blake said.
Director of MIA POW Jim Blake wanted the public to know that his group is doing everything they can to eventually bring all troops back home.
He added that, “Were dedicated Americans. We’re not politicians or a political group but we do keep the pressure on our own government to bring them home. They don’t do a very good job of it and were going to make sure that they do.”
