BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Fire officials say they are investigating the cause of five wildfires that erupted last night in south-central Idaho.
While officials said Tuesday that the fires are small and will be contained soon, the cause remains a mystery.
The fires were reported south of Hagerman. They burned a total of less than 200 acres.
U.S. Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Kelsey Dehoney says fire investigators are working with federal law enforcement to determine the cause. She said she didn't know when fire officials would know more.
No lightning was reported in the area during the time the fires started.
Dehoney declined to comment on whether the fires were intentionally started or were an accident.
