Nonpareil Farms has entered into a letter of intent for the sale of its dehydrated potato business in Blackfoot to Basic American Foods.

According to a news release from Nonpareil Farms, the sale will allow the company to focus its efforts on its rapidly growing fresh produce brand.

Both Basic American Foods and Nonpareil Farms are working towards negotiating the various agreements involved in the transaction and anticipate the process to take eight to ten weeks to conclude and finalize the documents for closing.

Headquartered in Blackfoot, Idaho, Nonpareil Farms has been a member of the Idaho potato community for more than 65 years. The family-owned and operated company has been manufacturing and supplying potato products to the food industry since 1946. Also, Nonpareil began packing and marketing Betty Crocker Fresh Potatoes to stores nationwide in 2011. Through its family of select growers, shippers and distributors, the company has expanded its operations to more efficiently distribute produce to consumers across the country.

Nonpareil Farms will supply Basic American Foods with potatoes for its dehydrated potato products.
