There are over 500-million apps for sale in the Apple App Store. There are over 400-million apps for sale in the Android marketplace. Here's how you can get the most out of three of them.
According to the mobile analytics company Flurry, the average iPhone has 65 apps on it but only 15 of those are used on a regular basis. Tonight, we’re featuring three apps that fit into your East Idaho lifestyle.
Of the hundreds of thousands of apps out there in the Apple App Store and Android Marketplace and with new apps coming out every week, don’t feel bad if you are starting to feel a little App-athetic about the apps.
In fact, a recent study by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project shows that 68 percent of smartphone owners only open five or fewer apps once a week and 17 percent don’t use apps at all. But here are a few apps that you can really get some use out of.
Let’s say you are in the market for a new home, you grab the free market magazine at your local grocery store and thumb through the pages. Or you could download the Southeastern Idaho Real Estate App. This app not only shows you properties that are on the market, but you can also do some window shopping of other properties by entering in the multiple listing service number.
So now you’ve found that perfect new home to buy and you need to secure a loan or just check your bank account, if you’re a customer of Idaho Central Credit Union, you can download and use their mobile banking app. You can check rates and find ATMs near you. Laura Smith with ICCU says that whether customers use the iOS app, the Android app or the web, security is their chief concern.
Laura Smith/ICCU, “It's actually very secure. We incorporate digital certificate technology which encrypts all of the information between our servers and the phones. So it keeps it very secure for people to manage their funds that way."
Now that you have your home and checked your bank balance, it’s time for some fun. It’s time to hit the slopes. With the Freeskier App, you can stay up to date on the latest snow totals at your favorite ski hills. You can also check out videos, product reviews and even the Freeskier podcast.
And there’s one more app that you should have on your mobile device and that is the KPVI News App. Breaking news, up to the minute weather and the latest sports scores and stories all at your fingertips. And the KPVI News App is available for iOS and Android devices.
