The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a triple homicide at a residence located about 20 miles west of Malad in Holbrook.
The Sheriff’s Office received a report of the homicide Friday afternoon about 1:00 PM. When Deputies arrived, three bodies were found inside the home, later identified as Brent L. Christensen (61), Trent Jon Christensen (32) and Yavette Chivon Carter (27). All three victims resided at the residence. Also, located were a 2 year old child, and a 2 month old infant. The infant was located under the arm of her mother, Yavette as she was protecting the baby. The children are safe and are with family at this time.
The murders are believed to have taken place sometime Thursday afternoon or early evening. Also located on the property are about 50 to 70 pit bull dogs and puppies raised for sale and dog fighting, and a marijuana grow operation in the basement of the home.
The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Bannock, Bingham and Power County Sheriff’s Offices, Blackfoot City Police, Idaho State Police and the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office in various aspects of the investigation.
Evidence is clear that this is not a random homicide, but that there is some type of relationship between the perpetrator and the victims, and the general public is not in immediate danger.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone that may have attended the “Easter Party” at this residence on Sunday March 31st to contact the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office at 208-766-2251. The Sheriff’s Office is also looking for the drivers of two different Semi Tractors: One is described as a blue semi-tractor with white block style lettering, and a red semi-tractor both of which had been seen at the residence this past week, neither were pulling trailers. They are not suspects but may have information that would be helpful to the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contacted the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office at 208-766-2251 or text a tip to 208-815-0120.
