EBay confirmed Wednesday that its corporate network was hacked and a database with users' passwords was compromised. The company says that cyber-attackers stole a small number of employee log-in credentials that gave access to eBay's corporate network. EBay is working with law enforcement to investigate the attack. The e-commerce site is asking users to change their passwords and says that there is no evidence of any unauthorized activity and no evidence that any financial or credit card information was stolen. EBay says that the company's payment-processing unit, PayPal is safe and has seen no evidence of unauthorized access.

Facebook adds new relationship “ask” feature.

Facebook has a new feature that lets you ask your friends if they are in a relationship. The new "ask" feature lets you ping friends who haven't set their relationship status. Clicking on "ask" brings up a dialogue box where you can explain why you are asking. The friend can reply directly to the person asking without updating their status.
