POCATELLO, Idaho – Four Bengals scored in double figures to lead Idaho State women’s basketball to a 75-54 comeback exhibition win over the University of Mary (S.D.) in Reed Gym Saturday morning.
The Bengals struggled in the first half. The Marauders held a four point, 35-31, lead going into the break.
Idaho State started the second frame with back-to-back three pointers by Kara Jenkins and Becca Schrimpsher to give ISU their first lead (37-35) since the opening minutes.
In all the Bengals outscored Mary 44-19 in the second game to secure the 21-point victory.
Lindsey Reed scored 15 points to lead the Bengals, Anna Policicchio scored 12, Kara Jenkins and Sheryl Bitter each scored 11 and Becca Schrimpsher scored 10 to round out the scorers in double-figures for Idaho State.
Linda Murray scored 15 to lead the Marauders. Brittney Dietz was the only other Mary player to score in double-figures with 13.
Jessica Tingey had nine rebounds to lead Idaho State. Murray had eight to lead Mary.
The Bengals begin the regular season Friday with a home game against Black Hills State at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym.
