For the last eight months Steven Storie and Jonathon Rivera have been crisscrossing the country on a road trip with a simple cause.
"Basically just to help promote the sport of disc golf," said Storie. "To sponsor all of the tournaments that we go to. To give something more for people to look forward to when they play the sport and just to bring a little bit more friendly competition."
Bringing disc golf to the masses didn't happen overnight. Dynamic Discs started as an idea selling discs out of a basement seven and a half years ago, the business continued to grow to three retail stores with the idea of a traveling team not far behind.
"The owner Jeremy Ruscoe had a vision for an RV being on the road for a full season of disc golf. Some states disc golf is year round and other states have their down time," said Storie
While on the road, the guys invite locals in each town to take part in their special two disc challenge.
"You come out and you get one putter and any of our other discs say a midrange, driver or fairway and you play the two discs the whole round and you record your score and we pay the top three in each division," explained Rivera.
Although they spend countless hours behind the wheel, they say each stop provides a great experience.
"My favorite part about doing this is playing new courses every time. I mean, feeling good that you go to a blind course and shoot well and meeting new people," said Rivera.
Storie added, "It's a great recreational sport and it's for everyone. It's very inexpensive and it's great for everybody especially to promote healthy living."
