POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State offense combined for 494 total yards and five touchdowns Saturday in the 2012 Dave Kragthorpe Classic. Sophomore Daniel McSurdy led the rushing effort, recording eight carries for 76 yards and two touchdowns in the scrimmage.
“We have been waiting for a breakout on the running attack,” ISU Head Coach Mike Kramer said. “We blitzed ourselves out of some things but Daniel had great vision. I couldn’t be more proud of him. The emphasis on this team is that we need to run the ball more effectively and Dan McSurdy showed today that he is going to be a force to be reckoned with this fall.”
Senior quarterback Kevin Yost went 10-for-13 for 163 yards and one touchdown while junior quarterback Justin Arias went 14-for-18 for 110 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Redshirt freshman quarterback Brad Kragthorpe went 12-for-17 for 85 years and one touchdown.
