ISU Suspends WR Derek Graves From Football Team
The Idaho State Athletic Department has announced that Wide Receiver Derek Graves has been suspended from the football team for a violation of team rules. Matt Gittins spoke with Derek's attorney Don Jackson Thursday Evening. Jackson denies the allegations that his client was late to practice. He says Graves has been attending medical treatment and working with the school's medical staff during that time.
His attorney also says they feel the suspension is a result of Coach Kramer retaliating and trying to intimidate Derek for his unwillingness to drop the criminal charges.
When reached for comment Idaho State said they would have nothing further other than to say Derek has been suspended from the team.
Mr. Jackson also says his client plans on continuing to seek criminal charges. When asked if they would pursue the case civilly he said it is too early in the process to make that decision.
