NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - Two schools in Idaho have been named Distinguished Schools by the National Association of State Title 1 Directors.
Title 1 schools are those that have high populations of students from low-income families.
The association gave the honor to 57 schools nationwide. In Idaho, the award went to Nampa's Central Elementary School and Lincoln Elementary in Twin Falls.
The state Department of Education recognized nine other Idaho schools for programs serving low-income students in the Caldwell, Boise, Vallivue, Blaine County, Mountain Home, Shelley and Plummer-Worley districts.
