MARSING, Idaho (AP) - Authorities say a 12-year-old boy has died after being shot once in the head by a 14-year-old girl in a home in Marsing.

The boy has been identified as Marco Jaramillo, of Homedale. The Ada County Coroner says the boy died late Monday at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

The Owyhee County Sheriff Department says the girl found a .25 caliber semiautomatic pistol in the closet of a home she was visiting. Investigators say she accidentally fired the pistol once in a living room Sunday afternoon while the boy and another friend were watching television.

Owyhee County Sheriff Daryl Crandall says the shooting remains under investigation.
