A burglary suspect who was apparently looking for a quick buck lands in jail after an eyewitness saw him looking in car windows and writes down the license plate number.
With that, police are able to make the connection to several unsolved crimes.
Thirty-five-year-old Thane Albert Eck of Terreton is charged with five felony counts of burglary and one felony count of attempted burglary.
On April 29th, Rexburg Police were called to investigate the windows being broken out of six cars around town. Purses and other valuables were taken. Some of the cars were broken into during a funeral service at an LDS church.
Several of the stolen purses were found along various roadsides around town.
Bond is set at one hundred thousand dollars.
According to Captain Randy Lewis, Eck has a criminal record for the same crime in other counties.
Lewis says based on the interview with Eck, the police feel confident he's the right suspect.
