One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a weekend accident in Lemhi County.

Around 11:00 PM Sunday, 38-year-old William Yakovac of Salmon & 37-year-old Joseph Hansen of Ellis were in a Dodge Pickup on Williams Lake Road when, for unkown reasons, the vehicle drifted off the road and landed at the bottom of a 900 foot embankment. Neither Yakovac nor Hansen were wearing seatbelts and they were both ejected from the vehicle.

Hansen died at the scene of the crash and Yakovac was airlifted to EIRMC in Idaho Falls. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this crash. The investigation into the accident continues.
