Gas prices are creeping up again, just in time for the summer time travel.
As the temperatures are beginning to rise, so are gas prices, reminding drivers when gas prices soared to record levels last summer.
Katie Merick: "Twenty bucks doesn't even come close to filling it anymore, it's ridiculous."
The extra hit to the pocket book at the pumps is especially hard for T.R. Campbell, who fills his landscaping equipment on a weekly basis.
T.R. Campbell: "It's pretty spendy; it's a hundred bucks every couple of days, really."
Nationally, the average price of gas is about $2.52 a gallon according to the U.S. Energy Department; luckily here in Idaho it's about $2.44 a gallon, but that still has some summer travelers worried.
Katie Merick: "We'll probably cancel our trip to Island Park, we can't afford it, it's just too insane."
Seth Wheatley: "We cut back on traveling, we rode our 4-wheelers, and dirt bikes and stuff around here."
And although the prices may seem steep now, they're about a $1.45 cheaper than those nearly four dollar a gallon gas this time last year.
The national average price per gallon of $2.52 is the first time gas prices have been over $2.50 since October. For the list of the cheapest gas in your zip code, you can log on to: http://www.csaa.com/portal/site/CSAA.
