There are some residents in Idaho Falls who have been complaining to city officials about a street that has never been paved.

Crowley Street's unpaved surface has had residents concerned about the safety and its unappealing look.

City officials say when the homes were built many years ago on Crowley Street, the city did not require the developer who built the homes to pave the road.

To this day, the street has been untouched by any type of pavement. An Idaho Falls official explains why it has not been paved.

“Most other residential streets in the City of Idaho Falls are paved by the people that develop it, the city does not pave those streets developers do,” says public works director Chad Stanger. “Then the residents pay for that street through the purchase of that lot or home.”

The city says they are willing to come to a financial agreement with residents in order to pave the road.
