COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) - Coeur d'Alene's urban renewal agency is moving forward with a plan to bring a roughly 35-unit affordable housing project to the northern Idaho city.
The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that LCDC agreed on Wednesday to purchase a local property for $100,000 to be used for the project.
The agency's executive director, Tony Berns, says the slumping economy is making development difficult but those involved haven't given up completely on breaking ground on construction in spring of 2010, as originally planned.
