A man in Caribou County who had just left the Caribou County Fair saw what looked like a funnel cloud. Neil Price took the picture and sent it to KPVI News 6 Chief Meteorologist Doug Iverson.
Iverson said these storms were unique.
"We had strong thunderstorms in southern Bannock & Caribou Counties this afternoon, although radar really didn’t show how strong they actually were. That could be due in part, at least with these storms, that the mountainous terrain impacted how they looked on the radar screen. We also had a unconfirmed report of a tornado near Arimo."
Idaho State Police was also working a crash near Downey where a semi trailer was blown over.
