A local woman is behind bars after authorities say she stole over $1,000 from a gas station.

According to the Pocatello Police Department, officers responded to the Maverik at 2100 East Center on Monday after a manager suspected an employee had been stealing from the business.

Police looked at surveillance footage and determined that 56-year-old Kim Louise Stratton would take money and place
it either into her purse or pocket.

Because the total amount stolen is over $1,000, she was charged with grand theft.

Stratton is being held at the Bannock County Jail with no bond set.
