The attorney for the teen that was shot by a Bannock County Sheriff’s Deputy Friday night says they are waiting to see body cam footage.

Attorney at Law Quentin W. Lackey says they are waiting for the Critical Incident Team’s report to come out and once that is released along with the body cam footage, it will shed light and tell the story of what occurred that night between the Bannock County Deputy and the 16 year old boy that was shot.

He says the body cam footage will be an accurate portrayal of the events and camera footage is hard to dispute.

Lackey says they’re hopeful the body cam footage backs his client’s explanation and or version of what happened that night.

“The officer did chase my client.  He did tackle him. They’re saying there was an altercation between the officer and my client and my client is saying that didn’t occur.  That’s why we’re hopeful to have the footage to see exactly what occurred,” says Quentin W. Lackey, Teen’s Attorney.

The Attorney at Law says his client is recovering and he would like to thank the doctors and staff at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello for their life saving skills, hospitality and medical care.

They are also grateful for the outreach and support they’ve received from the community.
