The college of Eastern Idaho recently announced their board of trustees, and on Monday they held their first board meeting.

In May Bonneville County voters approved to turn Eastern Idaho Technical College into a community college, and they have been working quickly to open the college this fall.

The five board members were sworn in and then preceded to the election of officers. Park Price was named chairman and Stephanie Mickelsen was named the vice-chairman.

The board voted to make Rick Aman, who was the president of Eastern Idaho Technical College, the interim president.

It was also announced that the community college has been accredited and will offer associated degrees in applied science, science and arts.

The College of Eastern Idaho is scheduled to open on august 21st, but they won't hold classes until the 22nd because of the eclipse.
