"'Bucks For Kids' is a yearly fundraiser we do to support local non-profit organizations," said Joshua Haack at the Dutch Bros Coffee Shop on 17th Street in Idaho Falls.

More than 10 years later, Dutch Bros Coffee has been able to supply youth organizations with a little extra help.

And according to Haack, these are the organizations they're donating to.

"But here in Idaho Falls, we are donating to our local school districts."

Schools District 91 in Idaho Falls and 93 in Bonneville County will be recipients for this year's "Buck For Kids" program.

The giveback takes place once a year.

"That goes to local kids who need help or school supplies for the new year or just for the school districts who need help with their funding and stuff like that," said Haack

For each drink bought on "Buck For Kids" day, Dutch Bros donates a dollar to the organization hand picked by the local coffee shop.

It turns out Dutch Bros and the school district have been partners for a long time, according to Director of Communications for School District 91, Margaret Wimborne.

"They are long time supporters with the Idaho Falls Education Foundation and they have worked with a number of our schools and clubs and organizations to do some fundraising," said Wimborne.

Since the 'Buck For Kids' annual giveback began, more than $2.5 million has been raised for youth organizations.

Wimborne says the work the coffee shop does to supply their schools and staff is exemplary.

"We're just really grateful that they work with us so well and again for supporting our kids and our teachers," said Wimborne.

For Haack, he's been a recipient of the "Bucks For Kids" program.

"I knew it was always a good day because I know I personally have been benefited a lot from our 'Bucks For Kids' day," said Haack.

And now, he's happy to be part of a team that can pay it forward for future generations.
