PRESS RELEASE: Idaho Falls Fire Department
PRESS RELEASE: The Idaho Falls Fire Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Laurelwood Avenue at 5:36 a.m. on April 6, 2021 when a homeowner called dispatch to report a fire inside her home that was coming from her living room. She reported that there was nobody else inside the home.
IFFD responded with two ambulances, three engines, the ladder truck and a battalion chief. The Idaho Falls Police Department also responded. Idaho Falls Power and Intermountain Gas were dispatched to temporarily turn off utilities in the area as a safety precaution.
When firefighters arrived to the single story home with a basement, they reported a working fire. Engine 4 made entry and rescued the 65-year-old female who was transported by ambulance 1 to
Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center
in stable condition. There were no injuries to firefighters.Firefighters had the fire knocked down by approximately 5:47 a.m., keeping it contained to the living room. Damages are estimated at approximately $50,000 which includes damage from the fire as well as smoke damage throughout the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by IFFD’s Fire Prevention and Investigation Division. #YourIFFD #FireAndEMS
